The singer explained that the pair were enjoying a relaxed evening together over drinks and snacks when an unusual fan encounter changed the mood.
“We’re sitting there, me and Tati,” Joe recalled while describing the date. He shared that he was having a Guinness while Gabriela had chosen orange wine.
At the time, Joe was also on a FaceTime call with his brother Nick Jonas and discussing something important when a fan reportedly approached and requested a photo.
Because he was occupied with the call, Joe politely declined the request in that moment. However, he later decided to make it right and looked around the venue hoping to find the fan and take the picture.

Joe mistakenly approached the wrong person and offered a photo opportunity, believing she was the fan who had approached him earlier.
“I turned around and said, ‘Let’s get that picture now,'” he said. The response immediately made him realize the mistake. According to Joe, the woman looked confused and replied, “What? I didn’t ask you for a picture.”
The story quickly became a fan favorite online, with many appreciating the singer’s effort to reconnect with a supporter while laughing at the misunderstanding.
