Joan Jett has canceled two upcoming concerts as she begins recovery after undergoing orthopedic surgery for a fractured vertebrae.
The 67-year-old rock legend’s team announced the update on Wednesday, August 5, explaining that she will step away from performances while following her doctors’ advice.

“Following a recent injury, Joan Jett has undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae and will begin the necessary healing process,” her team shared.
The canceled performances include her scheduled appearances at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California, on September 5 and the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 24.
Jett’s team said the singer is disappointed about missing the shows but will use the time to focus on physical therapy and recovery.

The statement added that she hopes to return to the stage and continue delivering concerts for her fans in the years ahead.
The “Bad Reputation” singer and her band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, had been touring regularly, including European performances earlier this year.
