Jesse Eisenberg has revealed the real reason behind his decision not to return as Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming The Social Reckoning, the follow-up to the acclaimed The Social Network.
Eisenberg, whose performance in the original film earned him an Academy Award nomination, spoke candidly about stepping away from the project. While discussing the sequel, the actor praised screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and described him as an exceptionally talented storyteller.
According to Eisenberg, conversations about the sequel lasted several days and he expressed admiration for Sorkin’s passion and vision. However, despite his respect for the project, he felt it was time to move in a different direction personally and professionally.
The actor emphasized that his decision was not connected to the quality of the film itself. Instead, he suggested that he no longer wanted to remain closely associated with the character and preferred focusing on different priorities in his life.
