Wright, who portrayed James Gordon in the 2022 film alongside Robert Pattinson, praised Reeves for bringing a fresh perspective to the iconic DC character and Gotham City.

The actor explained that Reeves is not making Batman films simply because he is a comic book fan. Instead, he sees the franchise as a powerful platform to explore complex stories and contemporary issues.

According to Wright, Reeves combines his deep love for Batman with a strong cinematic vision, creating a world that feels both familiar and new for audiences.

“He’s a massive fan of the franchise, hugely enthusiastic about it, and it’s deeply meaningful for him,” Wright said while discussing the director’s passion for the project.

The first Batman movie introduced Pattinson’s version of Bruce Wayne as he investigated Gotham’s corruption while battling the Riddler, played by Paul Dano.

For the sequel, reports suggest the Joker could become the next major threat, with Barry Keoghan expected to return as the character.
