Elizabeth Waddell’s Husband Speaks Out After Grenada Disappearance
The family of missing North Carolina mother Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell says the search effort will continue as authorities investigate her disappearance in Grenada.
The husband of missing North Carolina mother Elizabeth Waddell has shared an emotional statement after returning to the United States as the search for his wife continues.
Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, 44, disappeared while swimming near Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada, on July 22.
According to local authorities, Waddell arrived in Grenada on July 11 with a friend. She initially stayed at a resort on the western side of the island before moving to another accommodation in the south on July 21.
Her husband, Cailen Waddell, traveled to Grenada to support search efforts and help authorities locate his wife.
After spending several days in the country, Cailen said the family had done everything possible on the ground and would return to the US while the investigation continues.
“We have done what we can here, and the investigation will continue,” he wrote in a statement shared through a page created to support the search.
Cailen also expressed gratitude toward Grenadian authorities, praising their response and support during what he described as an extremely difficult time for the family.
He thanked hundreds of supporters who contributed through GoFundMe, with donations surpassing $24,000 to assist with search-related expenses.
The family said those funds will continue to support efforts while police work to uncover more information about Elizabeth’s disappearance.
Authorities continue investigating the case as family members and supporters remain hopeful for answers regarding the missing mother.
