Marvel star Tom Hiddleston recently proved that even he knows there are situations where his iconic character Loki is the better choice.
While promoting his new documentary film Pompeii: Out of Time, the British actor took part in a fun Disney+ interview where he was asked to choose between himself and the God of Mischief in different imaginary scenarios.
The game featured questions inspired by Loki’s connection with time travel, especially after the character’s appearance in the Marvel series where he travels through different timelines, including Pompeii.
When asked who would be better prepared to survive the destruction of Pompeii, Hiddleston immediately gave the victory to Loki.
“Loki. He’s getting out of there. I’m not,” the actor joked, admitting that his Marvel character would have a much better chance of escaping the historic disaster.
However, when it came to choosing the better travel companion, Hiddleston confidently selected himself.
The Night Manager actor explained that he would never want to take a road trip with Loki because the mischievous character could create unexpected problems along the way.
The conversation continued with a question about who would cause more trouble.
Hiddleston humorously claimed that Loki might not be responsible this time because the character would likely be too busy with his own challenges. Instead, he suggested that he himself could be the bigger troublemaker.
“I’m the God of Mischief,” he joked, embracing the playful connection between himself and the Marvel character.
The final question asked who would look better wearing a traditional Roman toga. Hiddleston admitted that Loki’s signature hairstyle might not perfectly match the ancient Roman fashion era, although the character would still try to make it work with accessories.
The actor added that he believed he could pull off a more suitable Caesar-inspired look.
Tom Hiddleston has played Loki for more than a decade and remains one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite separating himself from the fictional villain, he continues to celebrate the role that made him a global star.
Fans will soon see Hiddleston return as Loki in Marvel’s upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo brothers.
