Emily Ratajkowski Opens Up on Marriage Breakdown With Sebastian Bear-McClard in Raw New Essay

Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski has spoken candidly about the breakdown of her marriage to film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, offering a deeply personal account of life during and after childbirth.

In a newly published essay for The Cut, Ratajkowski reflected on the intense emotional and physical changes she experienced after giving birth to her son, Sylvester, in March 2021. She described the period as a difficult transition marked by exhaustion, identity shifts, and mounting strain in her relationship.

The Gone Girl star revealed that intimacy in her marriage ended roughly six months after her son’s birth, signaling a growing distance between her and her then-husband. She noted that the relationship deteriorated gradually, culminating in their separation less than a year later.

Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard officially split in July 2022 after four years of marriage. She later filed for divorce in September of the same year, bringing their relationship to a legal end.

At the time of their separation, reports circulated alleging infidelity by Bear-McClard, though these claims were never formally addressed by him. Additional allegations later emerged in 2023, which he also did not publicly respond to.

In her essay, Ratajkowski focused primarily on her personal experience of motherhood and the emotional complexity of navigating a relationship breakdown while adjusting to life as a new parent.

Her reflections highlight the challenges many face behind closed doors, especially during major life transitions such as childbirth and separation.
