Actress Didi Conn is reflecting on one of the most unexpected moments of her Hollywood journey, sharing how a random meeting with Henry Winkler turned into a major career opportunity.
While promoting her latest campaign with Laura Geller Beauty, Conn recalled meeting Winkler years ago during her early acting days in New York. At the time, she was appearing in commercials and attending auditions, unaware that a simple elevator ride would eventually lead to television success.
Conn remembered seeing a familiar face in an elevator after one audition but could not immediately place him. Their casual conversation quickly developed into coffee plans, with the actress assuming they may have worked together before.
Only later did she realize she had been speaking with Henry Winkler, who had already become a familiar face on the hit sitcom Happy Days through his iconic role as Fonzie.
The connection did not end there. After relocating to California, Conn landed an audition for Happy Days. She contacted Winkler, and to her surprise, he was present during the audition process and even read scenes with her.
The opportunity paid off. Conn secured the role of Joyce in the ABC sitcom, a breakthrough moment she says remains unforgettable. She later revealed that the experience helped establish a lasting friendship between the two stars.
