Hollywood icon Carol Burnett has opened up about a career moment that remains unforgettable, revealing the experience she considers one of her biggest disappointments in the entertainment industry.

The 93-year-old comedian and actress recently appeared on The Patrick Labyorteaux Show, where she was asked about the most embarrassing moment of her long and successful career.

Without hesitation, Burnett recalled her role in the 1974 black comedy-drama film The Front Page, directed by legendary filmmaker Billy Wilder.

“I was terrible,” Burnett admitted while discussing the movie, in which she played Mollie Malloy alongside stars including Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

Although the film featured an impressive cast and a respected director, Burnett revealed that she was unhappy with her own performance and avoided watching the movie after its release.

Years later, she experienced an awkward moment while traveling on a flight when The Front Page was selected as the in-flight movie.

Burnett recalled that the flight attendant announced a star from the film was onboard, causing passengers to turn and smile at her. However, once the movie began, she found herself unable to watch.

When the movie ended, Burnett said passengers raised their shades but did not turn around or acknowledge her, making the moment even more memorable.
