Fans of Brad Pitt will have to wait a little longer to see the return of one of his most iconic modern characters. The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a highly anticipated standalone sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 masterpiece Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has officially faced a release delay.
Originally slated for a late summer debut, Netflix announced via X that the film’s schedule has been pushed back to the winter window. Despite the delay, the streaming giant softened the blow by confirming a massive upgrade for film enthusiasts: a premium, limited theatrical release.

The standalone feature will now make its global debut exclusively in IMAX theaters on November 25, 2026, for a strict two-week limited run. Following its theatrical window, the movie will land on Netflix just in time for the holidays on December 23, 2026.
While Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay, direction duties have been handed over to powerhouse filmmaker David Fincher, marking another landmark collaboration between Fincher and Pitt. The star-studded ensemble cast features Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller. However, it remains unconfirmed if Pitt’s 2019 co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, will make an appearance.
Beyond reviving Cliff Booth, Brad Pitt is keeping his schedule packed as he officially begins pre-production prep to reunite with longtime friend George Clooney for the newly greenlit Ocean’s 14 sequel.
