Bettina Köster, a prominent figure in Berlin’s experimental music scene of the 1980s, has died at 66.
She was best known as the lead singer for the influential all-female band Malaria! Her work helped define the post-punk and avant-garde sound of that era.
Köster also performed internationally, touring with notable acts such as the Birthday Party and New Order.
