Ben Stevenson, a choreographer whose work reached international stages, has died at 89.
He was instrumental in the rise of the Houston Ballet. Under his direction, the company grew to become one of the largest and most prominent dance troupes in the United States.
His original choreography has been performed by companies around the world.
