Legendary singer Barry Manilow surprised fans after postponing his scheduled concert in Lexington, Kentucky, just hours before he was set to take the stage.
The 83-year-old music icon shared the update on August 4 through his official X account, explaining that the show could not go ahead due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s show in Lexington has been rescheduled,” Manilow wrote, without providing further details about the reason behind the postponement.
Rupp Arena also confirmed the concert delay, stating that the performance scheduled for August 4 had been postponed because of unexpected circumstances.
Officials assured ticket holders that previously purchased tickets would remain valid. Fans will be able to use their existing tickets for the rescheduled date once the new performance schedule is announced.
The cancellation comes months after Manilow opened up about a serious health challenge. In December, the “Copacabana” singer revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer and underwent surgery as part of his treatment.
Manilow later shared that the experience changed his perspective on life and encouraged him to reflect on his career, relationships, and the impact he has made on others.
In March, the Grammy-nominated artist announced that he was cancer-free, expressing gratitude and optimism following his recovery.
