Barbara Palvin is speaking openly about the challenges she faced while preparing to welcome her first child with actor Dylan Sprouse.
The Hungarian model revealed that pregnancy brought back old body image struggles after years of pressure and criticism in the fashion industry.
Appearing on the debut episode of the Wildmen podcast, the 32-year-old said she became anxious as her body started changing during pregnancy.
Palvin explained that seeing the number on the scale increase and noticing changes in her body triggered difficult emotions. She admitted that even before developing a visible baby bump, she found herself worrying about her changing appearance.
The model said having Dylan Sprouse by her side played an important role during that period. She praised her husband for constantly reminding her that the changes were part of creating a new life.
Palvin revealed that her relationship with her body was influenced by more than two decades in the modeling industry. She started modeling as a teenager and said she often faced comments about needing to lose weight.
She recalled being told that her body did not meet industry expectations and admitted that those experiences affected her confidence and relationship with food.
The model also discussed being labeled as a “plus-size model” after a Victoria’s Secret opportunity. While she said there is nothing wrong with the term, she explained that the label was difficult because it did not match how she viewed herself.
Barbara Palvin’s honest conversation highlights the emotional realities of pregnancy and the long-term impact of beauty standards on women’s self-image.
