Anne Hathaway Says Pregnancy Changed Her Sense of Smell
Hathaway is expecting her third child with her husband, Adam Shulman.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress shared details about her pregnancy.
She said fatigue was her main symptom during her first pregnancy. This time, however, she noticed something very different.
Hathaway said acne became one of her main symptoms. She also developed what she called “the craziest sense of smell.”

The Verity star explained that pregnancy has made everyday smells much stronger.
She joked that she can almost “smell time” because certain scents remind her of different periods in her life.
Hathaway said one smell recently took her “back to the 80s.”
She explained that she does not only notice the current season. Certain smells can remind her of summers from years ago.
The actress compared the experience to a scene from Goodfellas. She described moving between hotels, kitchens, elevators and other places during a press tour.
Strong Perfumes Became Difficult for Anne Hathaway
Hathaway also talked about another challenge during her pregnancy.

The actress joked that people she loves sometimes greet her while wearing strong perfume. She then has to fight the urge to feel sick.

Hathaway also shared a joke about getting through each stage of her pregnancy.
She said her first-trimester goal was to avoid dry heaving in public.
Now that she has reached the third trimester, she has a different goal.
“My goal is to not waddle in public,” Hathaway joked.
Her comments show the lighter side of her pregnancy journey. She has continued to work while preparing to welcome her third child.
