Angelina Jolie’s Children Seek Legal Name Change

Maddox and Zahara Jolie Move Ahead With Surname Change

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children, Maddox and Zahara, have officially started the process of removing “Pitt” from their surnames.

According to court documents, both siblings have completed a required legal step under California law by publishing name-change notices in the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

Maddox’s notice was published on July 7, while Zahara’s appeared on July 9, marking a significant development in their legal requests.

The filings show that Zahara is seeking to change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie, while Maddox has requested to become Maddox Chivan Jolie.

The name changes are not yet finalized and still require approval from the court. Hearings for the requests are scheduled for September.

Zahara had already publicly used the Jolie surname during her graduation ceremony at Spelman College in May. Although the official programme included “Jolie-Pitt,” her name was announced as “Zahara Marley Jolie” while receiving her degree.

Meanwhile, Maddox has previously used “Jolie” professionally. He reportedly removed “Pitt” from his film credits for his mother Angelina Jolie’s upcoming movie Couture before filing his legal request.

The latest filings represent the most public move by the siblings to officially adopt their mother’s surname.

The name-change process comes years after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s highly publicized separation, with their children continuing to maintain their individual identities away from the spotlight.
