Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement to Star in ‘Alice and Steve’ on Disney+
Disney+ has released an exclusive first look at its upcoming original series, Alice and Steve. The “shocking” new comedy stars Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement as best friends whose lifelong bond takes a disastrous turn.
A Friendship Devolves into a Feud
The premise of Disney Plus Alice and Steve is as awkward as it is hilarious. Alice (Nicola Walker) finds her world turned upside down when her best mate, Steve (Jemaine Clement), begins dating her 26-year-old daughter, Izzy.
According to the official synopsis, Alice enters a state of “frantic revenge” to end the relationship. However, Steve is ready for the fight. What was once a perfect friendship quickly descends into a chaotic, all-out feud.
The Star-Studded Cast and Crew
This six-part series marks a comedic departure for Nicola Walker, known for her intense roles in Unforgotten and The Split. She is joined by Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement, who describes his character as “classy and stylish—except for when he isn’t.”
The Alice and Steve cast also features:
Yali Topol Margalith as Izzy (Alice’s daughter)
Joel Fry as Daniel (Alice’s husband)

The creative team behind the camera is equally impressive. The series is written by Sophie Goodhart (Sex Education) and directed by BAFTA-winner Tom Kingsley (This Is Going to Hurt). It is produced by Clerkenwell Films, the team behind the 2024 hit Baby Reindeer.
Release Date and Premiere
While an official Alice and Steve release date has not been set, the series is expected to premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2026. Before hitting the small screen, it will have its world premiere at the prestigious CANNESERIES festival later this year.
