Horror filmmaker Curry Barker has returned to YouTube with a terrifying new short film for Halloween.
Barker earned international acclaim after his hit directorial debut, Obsession. The indie movie grossed over $520 million worldwide on a modest $750,000 budget.
Now, the director has written, directed, and edited a spine-chilling five-minute project titled Mama Bear.
Barker released the short on That’s A Bad Idea, the YouTube channel he shares with collaborator Cooper Tomlinson.
The story follows Floyd, played by Jon Lee Richardson, as unsettling phone calls interrupt his peaceful nap.
His afternoon quickly turns into a nightmare when he meets his own identical twin, played by Joshua Snyder.
Barker reunited with key Obsession crew members for the project, including designer Vivian Gray and stylist Blair James.
This terrifying release gives fans a quick thrill while they wait for his next movie, Anything But Ghosts, arriving in May 2027.
