Jon Bon Jovi has officially returned to the concert stage, marking his first live performance in four years after undergoing vocal cord surgery. The legendary rocker launched his highly anticipated Forever Tour on July 7 with the first of nine sold-out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
The iconic frontman reunited with longtime bandmates Tico Torres and David Bryan, joined by Hugh McDonald, Phil X, John Shanks and Everett Bradley. Together, they delivered a 21-song set that celebrated Bon Jovi’s enduring legacy and emotional comeback.
Before kicking off the performance, Bon Jovi acknowledged his recovery journey with a lighthearted reference to his vocal surgery. As With a Little Help from My Friends played, he joked about singing out of tune, drawing cheers from the audience.
The singer later became emotional while addressing fans, admitting he had wondered whether he would ever experience the excitement of performing live again.
“I haven’t heard the roar of a crowd in four years,” Bon Jovi told the audience, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support that helped him through one of the toughest periods of his career.
Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord medialization following his 2022 tour to repair a damaged vocal cord that threatened his ability to perform. Earlier this year, he revealed he had always taken care of his voice and remained committed to his craft throughout his career.
His successful return signals a major milestone, reassuring fans that the rock icon is back where he belongs. With several sold-out performances ahead, the Forever Tour promises to be one of the most memorable comebacks of the year.
