Filmmaker Ahmed Khan has clarified the reason behind veteran actor Sanjay Dutt stepping away from the upcoming ensemble film Welcome to the Jungle, addressing speculation surrounding his exit.
According to Khan, Dutt was initially part of the project and had even shot portions of the film. However, the actor later had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts linked to travel commitments to the United States for medical treatment.
The director explained that the film’s large-scale ensemble cast made scheduling particularly challenging, and Dutt’s unavailability created unavoidable production adjustments. Despite this, Khan emphasized that the actor remained cooperative throughout the process.
In a notable gesture, Dutt reportedly ensured that his exit did not disrupt the film’s production. He personally coordinated with the team to suggest replacements and maintain the project’s casting structure.
Khan shared that Dutt even reached out directly to actors Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff, requesting them to step into roles to help stabilize the film’s lineup. This behind-the-scenes intervention reportedly helped the production move forward smoothly without delays.
The development highlights Dutt’s long-standing reputation in the industry for professionalism and collaborative support, even when unable to participate fully in a project.
