Actress and filmmaker Olivia Wilde has spoken candidly about how motherhood has reshaped her outlook on life and parenting following her split from actor Jason Sudeikis.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Wilde offered rare insight into her co-parenting dynamic and how shared custody has influenced her daily routine and emotional balance.
The Don’t Worry Darling director, who shares two children with Sudeikis, said she values the structure that co-parenting provides. According to Wilde, the arrangement allows each parent to be fully present during their time with the children.
“I’m a very present mom even when I’m not able to be consistently present,” she said, explaining that shared custody gives her space to focus entirely on her children when they are with her.
Wilde added that having a capable co-parent allows her to pursue her professional work without guilt, describing it as a healthy balance between parenting and career demands.

She also noted that the arrangement has improved the quality of parenting on both sides. “They get the best of us,” she said, emphasizing that separation has not reduced their commitment to their children.
