Megan Thee Stallion to Exit Broadway’s “Moulin Rouge!” Following Viral Split from Klay Thompson
Megan Thee Stallion is officially taking a “REAL break.” Just days after the public and messy end of her relationship with NBA guard Klay Thompson, the Grammy-winning rapper has announced her early departure from the Broadway stage.
The Broadway Farewell
Megan took to Instagram on Monday, April 27, to reveal that her time as the flamboyant emcee Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical is coming to an end. This marks a historic stint, as Megan was the first woman to ever take on the role.
Final Performance Date: Friday, May 1, 2026.
Venue: Al Hirschfeld Theatre, New York City.
Statement: “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family… to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!”

While her run was originally slated to continue through mid-May, this early exit allows the rapper to step away from the spotlight following a week of intense media scrutiny.
The Split: Infidelity & “Cold Feet”
The career move follows an explosive series of social media posts and official statements confirming the end of her 10-month romance with Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson.
On April 25, Megan issued a candid statement to the press:
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me… I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The announcement followed a more pointed Instagram Story where she accused Thompson of cheating and having “cold feet” regarding monogamy, despite being introduced to his family.

What’s Next for the “Whenever” Songstress?
While the theater community celebrates her successful debut, Megan’s focus appears to be shifting back to her music and personal well-being. By wrapping up her Zidler duties this Friday, she is effectively clearing her schedule to navigate the fallout of the breakup away from the nightly demands of a Broadway production.
